SILENT WORKSHOP with Lucy Hopkins

  • Have you ever thought you were a total idiot? Good news! You probably are. In this workshop we’ll expand our amazing perceptivity by working for 1.5 hours in total silence. (Mostly total silence. Risk of laughter)

There’s a whole world of beautiful, genuine connection to be made if we accept our own magnificence, admit the moment and let ourselves be seen exactly as we are. Let’s see what we say when we stop trying to say things. Probably something amazing.

This workshop is highly participative! You will be performer and active audience member.

Suitable for anyone who interacts with humans.

Workshop running time: 1.5 hours with 30 min debrief

Rosalie Minnitt and Joanna Neary: PLAYTIME

  • Rosalie and Joanna discuss character comedy, host a Q&A, and run some workshoppy ideas, including improvising around writing and creating characters with anyone who would like to join in, all within 60 minutes. It will be tremendous fun, very silly, a bit educational, but mostly playful and daft.
Last time they did this, they ended up arguing in public, which was their favourite bit.

Comedy Club 4 Kids

  • Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups, sketch acts and cabaret stars from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children (aged 6+) and their families… but without the rude bits!

Twenty years later, the company has expanded from one London residency to being countrywide, running shows and workshops all over the UK from Peebles to Portsmouth, even producing a book on how to write and perform stand-up, and hosting our own Radio Nonsense podcast to bring the sillies to families all over the world. The show is family friendly, but without any patronising idiocy. In fact, it's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of the entire audience claiming to be called Bob.

    Suitable for ages 6+.
Adults to sit with children in their party (and help explain anything they get stuck on).Group bookings to contain at least one adult for every three kids.

"A highlight for children in recent years, giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy... with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy club" - The Guardian
"Absolutely hilarious." - The Yorkshire Times
"The perfect way to entertain the whole family." - Three Weeks
"All in all this show was great." - The Scotsman
"Comedy Club 4 Kids has stand-up sets from grown-up, high-quality acts who perform their usual sets, just without the swearing or rude bits." - The Independent
"...plenty of full on laughs and tears of enjoyment from parents" - Families Edinburgh
